Jack’s practice focuses on business and commercial litigation and insurance defense with an emphasis upon  construction, professional liability, employment, and extra-contractual claims. He has tried cases throughout Alabama and is a member of the Northern, Middle, and Southern District Courts of Alabama.   In addition to his litigation practice, Jack also maintains a robust general corporate practice, counseling clients on transactional matters and all phases of corporate development, including employment and labor issues. In particular, he has advised a variety of general contractors and subcontractors through all manner of construction projects and residential and commercial developments.

Jack is a lifelong resident of Alabama, having been born and raised in St. Clair County. After high school he attended Auburn University on an academic scholarship. While at Auburn he was a member of the SGA, IFC, and the University’s Financial Management and Pre-Law Societies.

After completing a degree in finance, Jack went on to attend law school at the University of Alabama School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. He was also a member of the Alabama Law Review where served on the editorial board.

Presently, he is a member of the Birmingham and Alabama Bar Associations where he serves on the Communications Committee. He has formerly served on the Alabama Bar Association’s Lawyer’s Helping Lawyers Committee, as well as the Birmingham Bar Association’s Community Service Committee. He has been selected to participate in the Birmingham Bar Association’s Pilot Mentoring program.

He has been a frequent speaker, having spoken or presented at the University of Alabama School of Law, Samford University, ABICLE, LawReview CLE, National Business Institute, and the Property Loss and Research Bureau.  He also acted as an author and editor for AM Best’s  Alabama Law Digest. He has also provided continuing education training for insurance carriers, employers and businesses throughout the Southeast.
